During gamescom 2015, Avalanche Software played a full mission of their upcoming take on Mad Max (simply titled Mad Max, of course) live for attendees.
IGN had them on one of their live shows, and they played through about 20 minutes of the game, starting with some car customization in menus that’s a touch boring, the gameplay tears in after just a minute or two.
You’ll even see Max hop into a hot air balloon in order to gain a little bit of insight about the surrounding area. Yep, this looks like your standard open world tower conquer to reveal map regions. To be honest, I’m growing a touch tired of this now overused mechanic.
Still the game looks way, way better than I expected so far. We obviously won’t know how good Mad Max is until it comes out, but things are looking up.
Mad Max will sell for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms starting on September 1, 2015.
