Halo 5’s campaign is twice as long as Halo 4’s

Halo 5: Guardians‘ campaign is apparently going to be very long. In fact, it was going to be even longer than it is currently, but 343 Industries decided to cut it back a bit to what we have now.

At gamescom 2015, Games Radar learned that Halo 5: Guardians will feature a campaign mode that’s basically twice as long as the one found in Halo 4. They aptly point out, in fact, that Halo 4 had a rather beefy campaign itself.

I don’t remember my exact playtime on Halo 4, but the current average according to sites like How Long To Beat is around 10 hours. If Halo 5: Guardians actually hits 20 hours in length, that’ll be rather stunning. A AAA FPS that runs that long seems pretty crazy by today’s modern standards set by the likes of Call of Duty and Battlefield.

What do you think? Is a longer Halo title a good idea?

Halo 5: Guardians will sell exclusively for the Xbox One on Oct. 27, 2015. Stay tuned for more.
