Samsung isn’t expected to announce the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus until next week, but the company may have already confirmed the device in one country. A contest from Samsung Philippines lists the rumored smartphone by name, removing any possible doubt that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is on its way.
Spotted by GalaxyClub, the contest offers tickets for a local version of the Unpacked event. All you have to do is sign up for “Samsung S6 Edge Plus Registration” by August 11. That seems to confirm the curved-screen smartphone once and for all. Of course, the device wasn’t exactly a secret before, but it’s still nice to see it written out by the company.
The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and Galaxy Note 5 also popped up on a Middle Eastern retailer’s website this week, revealing a full list of specs for both devices. It looks like the new Edge will offer a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, a 3000mAh battery, an Exynos 7420 processor, a 16-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter, 4GB of RAM and at least 32GB of storage. The Note 5 seems to offer the same hardware, but with a bigger battery.
Like we said, Samsung’s new lineup isn’t much of a mystery at this point. Still, we’re excited to see the new phones unveiled next week, and we’re holding out hope that the company can still manage to surprise us despite all these leaks.
