ASUS-ZenFone-Max

We weren’t expecting anything new from the ZenFestival in New Delhi on Thursday, where Asus announced plans to bring a handful of its current devices to India. But it turns out the company had one big surprise to share. Say hello to the ZenFone Max, a mid-range phone with a massive battery.

The ZenFone Max packs a 5,000mAh battery that should get you through multiple days of use on a single charge. The decision to go with a 720p 5.5-inch display, a slower Snapdragon 410 processor and just 2GB of RAM should extend your battery life even further. The device also features Gorilla Glass 4, 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter, 16GB of expandable storage, dual-SIM card slots, and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop along with the company’s own ZenUI.

If you’re looking for a long battery life, but don’t really care about specs, this is the device for you. The ZenFone Max boasts one of the biggest smartphone batteries we’ve ever seen. Then again, the rest of those specs may hold you back when it comes to running more complex games and apps.

The device is set to launch in October, though it’s unclear when it might be available in America. The price is also a mystery, but we assume the ZenFone Max will be pretty cheap considering its mid-range hardware.
