While the rest of the world has to wait for a special invite to order the OnePlus 2, the phone recently made its debut in China where it flew right off the shelves. According to posts made by the firm on Chinese social network Weibo, it quickly sold out of inventory in just over a minute.
OnePlus confirmed that it sold more than 30,000 units in a minute and 4 seconds. Some quick math suggests that it sold about 468 smartphones a second during that time. That’s pretty incredible for a startup smartphone maker that has built most of its brand by word of mouth and teasers.
Don’t worry about stock, though. The company still plans to kick off its first invitations on August 11, when it begin to allow people to order the phone. You can read more about how that whole operation works in our guide on how to buy a OnePlus 2.
