While Xbox One owners in America are just getting to enjoy over-the-air TV on their Xboxes, European gamers have had it for a while. Now, DVR is heading to the system as well.

The DVR functionality will work with over-the-air TV, and will not require any kind of subscription, including Xbox Live. It also integrates with the Xbox in some cool ways. You’ll be able to stream recordings within your house or download them to a portable device and take them with.

Recordings can also be scheduled remotely if your Xbox is in instant-on mode via the Xbox app or, presumably, via Smartglass.

The Xbox One’s DVR is expected to hit sometime next year, but this is a feature we can’t wait to try out.
