Destiny is replacing all of Peter Dinklage’s voice work for Ghost with Nolan North

Well, I guess I was one of the few who actually enjoyed Peter Dinklage’s work as Dinklebot – I mean, the Ghost – in Destiny. Bungie has recast the part and retroactively re-recorded all of the spoken dialogue.

Dinklage’s voice work is being replaced by Nolan North, one of the more ever-present voice actors in the gaming scene. Even if you don’t know the name Nolan North, you probably know his body of work. He’s Nathan Drake in Uncharted, along with so many more voices in so many other video games. From big parts like the President in Saints Row to random characters in other titles.

The word comes from Game Informer as they recently visited Bungie to see what they have in store for the upcoming Destiny expansion The Taken King. The most surprising bit, as I stated above, is that North is not only playing the Ghost moving forward. No. Bungie had North do all of the old dialogue as well so that they could remove Dinklage entirely.

That’s crazy.

What do you think about this replacement? Will you miss Dinklage’s voice work in Destiny, or do you feel it fell too flat to be good?
