Just a few days ago, images of BlackBerry’s Silver Edition Passport leaked online. Now the “Silver Edition” smartphone is official, and the company even unboxed one on camera for us.

This is still the Passport you know and love, though it does include some nice improvements. First, the stainless steel frame gets enforced to make the entire design even tougher, while the device’s rounded corners are easier to grip thanks to a diamond weave pattern. The keyboard also received an upgrade for better typing, and the cameras have additional protection.

Otherwise it looks like you’ll get the same basic hardware. That includes a 4.5-inch square display with a 1440 x 1440-pixel resolution. The device also packs a massive 3450mAh battery, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, a Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage with microSD support. It runs the company’s latest BlackBerry 10.3.2 operating system and offers access to Amazon’s Appstore.

You can buy the Passport Silver Edition now from BlackBerry for $549. If you order the device before Aug. 19, you’ll also receive over $130 in accessories for the new phone, though it may be worth holding out a little be longer for the company’s rumored Android slider.
