Amazon Echo just got even easier to buy

by Jacob Kleinman | August 3, 2015

Amazon Echo is a pretty sweet device, packing a smart digital assistant into a nice Bluetooth speaker. Amazon finally started offering Echo without an invitation back in June, and now it’s available from a second retailer as well.

Starting now you can buy an Amazon Echo from Staples. The retail chain is selling the smart speaker for $179.99, which is the same price you’ll pay at Amazon. Staples is also offering 5 percent back for Rewards Members and some special financing options. For now it’s only available online, though you can have one shipped to a nearby store for pickup.

Like we said, Amazon Echo is cool, but its feature set is also pretty limited. In a lot of areas you’re restricted to Amazon’s own ecosystem, though the company pushes out new features and updates pretty regularly. Then again, it may be worth waiting to see what improves with the Echo 2, or what kind of gadgets other firms can come up with using Alexa’s open SDK.

But if you don’t feel like waiting, hit the link below to order Amazon Echo now from Staples.
