Facebook and Nintendo recently partnered up for an event spanning a few days at the Facebook headquarters called Hackathon. It had nothing to do with hacking, so there’s that.
Nintendo issued a challenge to the various Facebook engineers to make Super Mario Maker levels. The creations would then be played and judged.
What you see at the head of this post is the winning result of that contest in its entirety. The Facebook Hacakthon Super Mario Maker winning level is Ship Love, and it was made by Facebook’s Research & Development Division.
The level doesn’t particularly look like the hardest thing that came out of the event, but it certainly is interesting. There are some puzzle-esque moments coupled with a bit of platforming. This type of stuff actually has me more excited to try Super Mario Maker.
And try it I shall. Super Mario Maker is set to hit the Wii U on Sept 11, 2015. We’ll have more on the game, including our review, between now and then, so stay tuned.
