The Witcher might be done as far as books and games go – aside from a couple expansions – but fans of the world around Geralt of Rivia (I call it the Witcherverse) still have more to look forward to and more to do.
CD Projekt Red is partnering up with R. Talsorian Games, the company behind Cyberpunk 2020, to create a pen-and-paper game based on the series of books and games. This isn’t the first interaction between the two companies. As you might remember, they’re also working together on a video game based off the Cyberpunk license called Cyberpunk 2077.
“The Witcher Role-Playing Game will allow tabletop RPG fans to recreate an array of characters known from the Witcher universe and live out entirely new adventures set within the world of Geralt of Rivia,” said CD Projekt Red in the announcement.
The game will make use of Cyberpunk‘s Fuzion rules and feature all the big character types – witchers, sorceresses, along with a vast array of monsters, spells, and typical RPG fare. The game is currently set for release sometime next year.
