With eight real-life courses and four fictional ones, Rory McIlroy PGA Tour has some extra work to do to get the minds and wallets of golf fans. EA Sports has some updates on the way that should, at the very least, be a start toward making good.
On August 11, all owners of the game will receive the TPC Scottsdale course, which was initially only given to those who pre-ordered the game.
Then in September, they’ll receive the East Lake Golf Club of Atlanta, the course that ends the FedEx Cup Tour Championship.
When Rory McIlroy PGA Tour launched earlier this month, the number of courses was the most universal criticism from fans and critics alike. EA has promised free post-release DLC to support the game. This should be (and had better be) just the start, as some crucial courses are still missing from the line-up, such as Augusta National. Even with these courses, the game is far from perfect, but this is a good start.
