No Man’s Sky dev on VR support: “I don’t know what I’m allowed to say”

No Man’s Sky and virtual reality gaming sounds like a match made in heaven. Well, if not heaven then a procedurally generated version of outer space that’s nearly infinitely explorable.

Edge Magazine spoke with Hello games Sean Murray specifically about whether or not No Man’s Sky will be playable with Sony’s Morpheus VR headset, and his answer, as ambiguous as it was, is pretty suggestive of a desire to make it happen.

“I don’t know what I’m allowed to say…It’s something we’re thinking about.”

Right? That bit there is pretty compelling in and of itself. Murray goes on.

“Morpheus, Oculus… There’s nothing more cool and sci-fi than VR and a big procedural universe. I think that, for the people who want to just explore, and even for the space combat and things like that, it would be a good fit. Let’s put it that way.”

I totally agree. I’ll be picking up No Man’s Sky on the PlayStation 4 in all likelihood, and the idea of being able to play this massive game with a virtual reality headset is way too enticing. I need it.

Do you think No Man’s Sky is a good match for virtual reality?
