Cyanogen OS gets new default calendar

Boxer, a mobile productivity company that already provides a popular email app on iOS and Android under the same name, announced its new Boxer Calendar client on Wednesday. The app will soon ship as the default calendar on Cyanogen OS devices, and it looks pretty slick.

The application works seamlessly with the Boxer’s email app so that you don’t have to toggle back and forth between the two applications — your appointments and other events are all visible right away. Boxer Calendar also provides support for calendar sync, Activesync and Exchange, which will be useful for Cyanogen OS devices; the company said Yahoo/Gmail CalDAV support is “coming soon.”

The first Cyanogen OS-powered devices with Boxer preloaded are set to ship “in the coming months,” though Boxer didn’t name any specific hardware partners.
