Moto G (2105) announced — A customizable, and affordable, unlocked smartphone

Motorola announced the Moto G (2015) on Monday, the third Moto G to date. This year’s Moto G stands out against earlier models for a number of reasons, but primarily because it’s going to be customizable. Motorola confirmed that customers will be able to choose between a variety of colors and accents through Moto Maker. It’s also an affordable unlocked handset.

The Moto G (2015) sports a 5-inch 720p display, a Snapdragon 410 processor, 4G LTE support, a 13-megapixel camera (same camera from the Nexus 6) and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, which lines up with the rumors we heard about earlier. Two models will be available, including one with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage and another with 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM. Thankfully there’s also a microSD card slot, so you can expand that storage, too.

Even cooler? This is the first Moto G that’s actually water resistant. IPX7 protection, which means it can hang out in a meter of water for up to 30 minutes.

It will come in black or white or you can personalize it with Motorola shells with a variety of shells, including a new flip shell. Of course, as we said earlier, it can be customized in the Moto Maker design studio. Accents, back color, front color, memory size and more can all be customized, and you’ll receive it in the next few days.

It goes on sale around the world beginning today.
