Dragon Age: Inqusition adds horse armor in its latest DLC pack

Oh, the early days of DLC, back before we perfected its influence of video games. How quaint.

Okay, we’re still a long way from labeling DLC as “perfect,” but we’ve made quite a few advances from the days of The Elder Scroll IV: Oblivion’s infamous Horse Armor DLC pack. That embarrassing episode of gaming history has become an ironic joke nowadays, one that BioWare has either intentionally or unintentionally just jabbed a stick at.

The latest “Spoils of the Qunoari” DLC pack for Dragon Age: Inquisition adds several new features like throne decorations and some powerful armor sets, but make no mistake about what is the highlight of this pack. Yes, you’ll be able to dress your horse in horse armor. Whether it serves as practical defense or just a cosmetic design doesn’t even matter. Just that it exists is a joke, and we’re all pointing fingers and laughing, remembering “simpler times.”

Oh no! Are we starting to feel nostalgic for the early days of DLC already? I sure hope not, because that means publishers will want to exploit that nostalgia and use it to justify awful DLC releases again.

“Spoils of the Qunari” is currently available on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One.
