The nature of the Elder Scrolls games is such that fans who spend significant time with each wind up falling in love with the worlds they inhabit. Consider Oblivion, for instance, and you’ll find droves of fans calling that game’s space the best in the franchise.
Cyrodiil and the Shivering Isles are, according to those folks, the best places in the Elder Scrolls universe. It’s good news, then, that a group of fans are working on porting all of Oblivion into Skyrim, giving one of the best world’s a nice rebirth in graphical fidelity.
There’s a team of volunteer developers working on the game with recruitment happening on TESRenewal.com. The team is working on what they’re calling Skyblivion, which kills me. You can see it in action over more than 40 minutes below. This is super, super early on, so the lack of polish and life is expected.
There’s no timeline for the release of Skyblivion yet. Knowing that it’s in the works, though, has me excited to get into the Skyrim‘d version of a world I sunk hundreds of hours into years ago.
