ASUS ZenWatch is just $129 following price drop

How do I know the next wave of Android Wear devices is on the horizon? In addition to plenty of rumors, prices have been plummeting.

The ASUS ZenWatch, which last month saw the price fall to just $149 at Best Buy and Amazon, is now just $129 through Google Play. That is but a mere drop in the bucket for a smartwatch of this pedigree. But beware: the ZenWatch 2 should be launching very soon.

The original ZenWatch is not even a year-old, but the upgrade cycle of smartwatches seems to be an entirely different beast compared to smartphones. That might be a product of the incredibly young market, which is still trying to find its footing. There are plenty of terrific options out there, and the ZenWatch, especially at this price, is worth considering.

As a refresher, the ZenWatch features a 1.63-inch AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 400 processor, and 1.4Wh battery.
