The end of this month is shaping up to be jam packed with tech events. We have OnePlus on July 27, Motorola on July 28, Windows 10 arriving on July 29 and, now, a mystery Nokia event has been announced.
According to AndroidHeadlines, Nokia is sending out invites to VIPs for an event in Los Angeles on July 28 with nary a mention of what’s going to be discussed. “Nowhere, now here,” the invite says. It could be related to the possible sale of HERE maps — the “now here” part of the headline suggests that — but who holds an event for a sale? Maybe Nokia will talk more about its intentions to enter the smartphone market again next year, though we know it only plans to license its name to other firms, so that doesn’t sound right either. There must be some sort of news, but we’re not sure what it’s going to be.
Or maybe it’s nothing. Maybe it’s just a cocktail party with expensive hors d’oeuvres. Everyone likes those.
