The newest Batman game is all about the fall of the Dark Knight. What WB Games and Rocksteady probably never intended was that it end up being about the Dark Knight showing up this fall.
According to an EB Games internal email leaked to Kotaku Australia, the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight is on the way back to WB Games’ warehouses:
As previously advised, we have stopped sales of Batman: Arkham Knight PC while Warner and Rocksteady work on addressing performance issues with the game. The latest information is that updates won’t be available until Spring. Due to this we have made the difficult decision to recall all PC stock from stores to return to the vendor until an acceptable solution is released.
As this email came from the Australian arm of the games retailer known in the U.S. as GameStop, when they say spring, they’re referring to a few months from now.
If it wasn’t clear before how dire the condition of the game is, knowing that EB Games is pushing the game back to vendors sends a strong message both to the publisher and to gamers.
Meanwhile, Batman: Arkham Knight is out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and the new Batgirl DLC arrived this week.
