Rocksteady has announced a special treat for Batman: Arkham Knight season pass owners this August. Those who have picked it up will be getting a sweet little DLC bonus which kicks it old-school with the 1989 Batman film.
Yup, you’ll be able to play as Michael Keaton Batman, one of the favorite actors to play the role. More important than the character though, you’ll be able to play in the Batmobile he cruised around in! Not the recent “tumbler” Batmobile from the games and films, but the slick version with the huge wings on the back.
“Battle through the streets of Gotham City with this pack that includes the Batman skin and Batmobile from the 1989 Batman film, as well as two tracks inspired by the film’s sequel.”
I know it’s kind of blasphemous, but I was never a fan of the 1989 Batman. I was-four-years old when it came out, and I saw it, but was a bit too young to fully grasp what I was seeing. I tried going back after Batman Begins, but that was a bit futile. The performances are great, especially Nicholson of course, but the pacing comes off as just too offbeat.
In my childhood, it was all the 1960s TV show and Batman: The Animated Series. Of course, the 60s Batman will also be included in the pack as well. Too bad they couldn’t score Adam West’s voice.
“Included in this pack are six character skins based on the alternate timelines — 1990s Catwoman, One Year Later Robin, Arkham Origins Batman, Iconic Grey and Black Batman, 1970s Batman and the Original Arkham Nightwing.”
All content will be released in August for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. PC gamers will have to wait, and hopefully the port will be in working condition by then. Is it enough to make up for the unreasonably short Harley Quinn and Batgirl DLC packs?
