Samsung Galaxy A8 is official and insanely thin

Following plenty of rumors, Samsung on Tuesday officially introduced the Galaxy A8, one of its thinnest smartphones ever with a body that’s just 5.9mm thick.┬áThe phone still packs a punch despite its small frame, however.

You’ll find a 5.7-inch 1920 x 1080-pixel Super AMOLED display, an octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, either 16GB or 32GB of storage, a microSD card slot for adding up to 128GB of additional storage, a 16-megapixel camera, a fingerprint reader in the home button, LTE support and a large 3,050mAh battery, all crammed inside of the device.

Samsung’s website suggests that the Galaxy A8 should be available soon in China, though we couldn’t find it available from Samsung’s partner retailers in a quick search. It will launch in white, black and gold. No word yet on an international release.
