PlayStation’s PLAY 2015 sale starts Tuesday, details announced

by Joey Davidson | July 14, 2015

The annual PLAY sale on the PlayStation Store is set to begin next Tuesday, July 21. The word comes from the PlayStation Blog, and they’ve explained which games are being offered, their release dates, their discounts and the overall reward.

With the PLAY sales, buying more of the games typically nets you a bigger discount or store credit down the line. That’s the case again here, though the discount isn’t as steep as I remember.

Here’s the deal. The four games releasing during the PLAY 2015 event are Journey on July 21, N++ on July 28, GALAK-Z on August 4 and Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture on August 11. These are all PlayStation 4 games (though Journey on the PS3 will get a discount), so PS Vita fans don’t have much to look forward to here.

This handy table offers the breakdown in price points.

If you buy two or more titles during the event, you get a 10 percent coupon for the PlayStation Store. Right, not the best deal, but a little incentive to explore.

We all know what Journey is, of course. N++ is a 2D action platformer like Super Meat BoyGALAK-Z is a classic anime inspired arcade spaceship shooter. Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture comes from the studio behind Dear Esther, and it transports players “back to the moments leading up to the apocalypse to explore the choices people make when they’re faced with world-shattering events beyond their control.”
