Metal Gear Solid V box art sees Kojima’s name disappear again

Oops, they did it again.

Konami has once again removed the name of director Hideo Kojima from the box art for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The last time they did this, fan outcry led to the replacement of the name within a few days, though the outcry couldn’t bring back P.T., the beloved Silent Hills teaser also from Kojima.

NeoGAF spotted the change yesterday, shown below. It’s pretty plain to see, but it’s equally hard to understand why, if fan outcry led to them putting it back last time, they’d remove it again – or why they restored it in the first place.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is still set to release on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on September 1, with PC following two weeks later, unless Konami does something else to add more fuel to the fire in the interim.
