Apple on Tuesday began seeding the first beta of iOS 8.4.1 and OS X 10.10.5 to developers. Keep in mind that this is a totally different beta program than the iOS 9 beta releases that are also being released ahead of the big iOS 9 launch this fall, and separate from OS X 10.11 El Capitan.
This is the next build of iOS 8.4, which was launched to the public on June 30 and included Apple Music. It’s not immediately known what’s included in iOS 8.4.1 beta 1, but we assume it’s focused more on performance tweaks and enhancements. It would seem that all major new features will simply be saved for iOS 9.
“The OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 update improves the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac,” Apple said of the OS X 10.10.5 beta.
Folks with Apple developer accounts should find the updates on their Macs and iOS devices now.
