Coming from the folks at SEGA as publishers and Game Freak as developers, yes, the one that makes Pokémon, is Tembo the Badass Elephant. This is a strange game with an equally strange name, though it carries the potential to actually be a solid little 2D action platformer.
You’ll take on the role of Tembo as he storms through Shell City fighting an army of bad guys. Of course, there will be plenty of peanuts along the way worth collecting, and the stereotypical snack for elephants even adorns the military gear in the game.
That trailer above should give you a pretty good taste of what the gameplay looks like here. This is a lite action platformer, for sure, but I’m never one to turn my nose up at a silly little adventure.
Tembo the Badass Elephant now has an official release date, too. The game will hit the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC platforms digitally on July 21, 2015. It will sell for $15, though those who pre-order the game before release will get it for $13.49.
