The new Ghostbusters proton pack looks incredible in person

Remember that redesigned proton pack Ghostbusters director Paul Feig shared the other day? Well it was on the show floor at Comic-Con, and it looks amazing in person, like something machined together in a garage. And I don’t mean that in a bad way at all.

The original proton pack will always hold a special place in our hearts, but the newest design is… more realistic? I think that might be the best way to describe it. It looks like something that could actually exist, and not some weird backpack/gun Frankenstein monster. It’s full of rusty scrap metal, bad wiring and sketchy welding. In other words, it’s perfect.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the original. But I’m liking the new one more and more, and seeing it in person sealed it for me.

You don’t have to agree! But let’s give this one a shot. Considering who is involved with the new Ghostbusters, the movie has the potential to turn out really good. Breathing a little life into the proton pack and Ecto-1 allows Feig to create Ghostbusters his way while still paying homage to the original.
