Get ready for every license you could imagine to show up in LEGO form. Now that LEGO Dimensions has given the toy giant a way to use a license to create a couple mini figures and a simple LEGO set instead of justifying a big expensive set, we can probably expect to see lots more of them popping up.
First up, Doctor Who.
Warner Bros. Interactive showed off the new set this week at San Diego Comic-Con. The set will feature the current Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, who will also voice the character in Dimensions. Players will encounter Daleks, Cybermen and even the Doctor’s robot pet, K-9.
They’re not just simply making the 12th Doctor and stopping there, though. When the 12th Doctor dies in the game, he regenerates (as Time Lords do) as the 1st Doctor, on up from there. His TARDIS even changes to match the Doctor the player currently controls, and the player can access a jukebox with various Doctor Who themes from over the years.
Now if only they’d make Bill and Ted mini figures, we could get all the greatest time travelers together in one game.
LEGO Dimensions hits PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on September 27.
