LG announces G4 Beat with Snapdragon 615 processor, 5.2-inch HD display

LG today announced the latest addition to its G4 family. The G4 Beat is a midrange device that adopts the flagship G4’s design but exchanges the internals for a more affordable price tag.

But just because the G4 Beat isn’t quite as spectacular as the original G4, however, that doesn’t mean it isn’t an excellent midrange smartphone. It has a 5.2-inch Full HD (1080p) display and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, plus 1.5GB of RAM.

Other features include 4G LTE connectivity, a 2,300mAh battery, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera (unless you live in Latin America, where LG will ship the G4 Beat with a 13-megapixel camera instead).

The G4 Beat measures 142.7mm tall by 72.6mm wide, and is 9.85mm thick, which makes it slightly smaller than the original G4. It’s also lighter at 139 grams, but it comes in the same color options, including metallic silver, ceramic white, and shiny gold.

The G4 Beat will make its debut in Europe and Latin America later this month before rolling out globally throughout the rest of the year. LG hasn’t yet confirmed the handset’s price tag, so you’ll have to wait for the G4 Beat to go on sale in your country to find that out.
