As 20th Century Fox gears up for a big Comic-Con presentation on Saturday, several new Deadpool images were released this week, including one that suggests the loudmouth anti-hero will indeed be at the show.
Now that filming for Deadpool has wrapped up, Comic-Con seems like the perfect stage to see footage of the chimichanga-loving Marvel favorite. Considering how delightful the test footage was that leaked a few years back, expectations are pretty high for Deadpool. But according to Ryan Reynolds, who is once again playing the character, the movie will be the character fans of the comics have fallen in love with, and not the one we saw in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
In addition to a hint that Deadpool is making a Comic-Con appearance, these other photos reveal some of the side characters that are set to make an appearance. Taken from a special Comic-Con issue of Entertainment Weekly, the images reveal T.J. Miller as Weasel, Ed Skrein as Ajax, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Morena Baccarat as Copycat.
As a bonus, we also get an image of Reynolds as Wade Wilson without the Deadpool costume, and his face isn’t horrifically scarred. Either this is a flashback of some sort, or the film introduces us to Wilson before he undergoes Weapon X experimentation. Either way, it looks like we’ll get plenty of backstory on the character before he becomes the maniac fans know and love.
20th Century Fox’s Comic-Con presentation is set for Saturday evening, where we’re also expecting news on Fantastic Four and X-Men: Apocalypse.
