Apple is expanding into Queens, NYC this Saturday with its first store in the borough. The new Apple Store is set to open its doors on July 11 at 10 a.m. ET inside the Queens Center mall. The first 1,000 visitors that day will also receive a free T-shirt.
“We are really excited to bring our eighth store in NYC to Queens,” an Apple representative told the Daily News. “When we saw this location it made a lot of sense.”
The new store will be one of Apple’s most diverse, which makes sense considering the borough’s mixed demographic. The location is set to employ about 130 people who speak 24 different languages. The new store will also look more like a regular mall outlet, rather than some of the more unique designs features at its Manhattan locations. Of course, you’ll still have access to in-person customer support and the Genius Bar.
Apple already boasts seven stores across New York City. Six of those are located in Manhattan with one more in Staten Island. The company also has another store coming to Brooklyn later this year or in early 2016.
