The new Nest Cam has arrived in the U.K., less than a month after making its debut in the U.S. Based on the Dropcam, which Nest acquired last year for $555 million, the Nest Cam offers 1080p video surveillance that you can monitor remotely from your smartphone.

Nest Cam is priced at £159 (approx. $246) in the U.K., while the upcoming Nest Aware cloud backup service, which lets you look back at video recorded over the past 30 days, will be priced at £8 (approx. $12) per month.

Nest Cam offers a magnetic base with tripod mount, 8 built-in infrared LEDs that detect and record motion even when it’s dark, and support for high-definition video at 1080p. There’s also Wi-Fi connectivity built-in, so you can tune into the video stream from just about anywhere — plus a wide-angle lens with a 130-degree field of view.

Nest its also launching its latest Protect alarm in the U.K. today. Priced at £89 (approx. $137), the device is smaller and lighter than its predecessor, and boasts a new “slit-spectrum” sensor that’s better at detecting both fast- and slow-spreading fires.

Both Nest Cam and Nest Protect can be purchased from Nest’s online store via the link below.
