Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One is getting more and more interesting. Following news that the film would be more of a violent war story, new details suggest one of the franchise’s most important characters will play a part in the spinoff.
According to Birth. Movies. Death., Darth Vader will appear in Rogue One, though he apparently won’t be the main antagonist. Instead, he’ll be “behind the scenes, pulling strings.” The report says he’ll literally show up on a screen in the movie, “via viewscreen or holo projection or something.”
“Will our heroes actually run into the Dark Lord of the Sith in person?” Birth. Movies. Death. asked. “My source wouldn’t say. My source was also mum about Grand Moff Tarkin, who was of course the commander of the fully operation Death Star.

Godzilla director Gareth Edwards is directing Rogue One, which is currently scheduled for a Dec. 16, 2016 release.
