Samsung Z3 Tizen phone said to pack some pretty solid specs

Samsung’s first Tizen phone, the Z1, wasn’t really much to write home about. It was a low-end device with weak hardware, but the upcoming Z3 could be a big step up according to one new report.

SamMobile offers up a list of specs for the rumored Z3, which it says is┬áreportedly Samsung’s next Tizen phone. The device allegedly comes equipped with a 5-inch 720p HD Super AMOLED display, a quad-core 1.3GHz processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter and a 2600mAh battery. It runs Tizen 2.4.

We still don’t know much about the design, but we’re guessing Samsung will opt for plastic for the Z3. The same source notes that the device will weigh 140 grams. It also features some pretty bulky dimensions at 141.5mm tall, 70mm wide, and 9.5mm thick.

The device described here actually sounds a lot like the rumored global Tizen phone we heard about last month. The handset allegedly features very similar specs, suggesting the Z3 could get a much wider launch that its predecessor. Rumor has it Samsung is also considering a high-end flagship handset, but for now that may just be wishful thinking.
