One of the reasons I’m most excited for Fallout 4 is the modding community. Bethesda’s titles, like Skyrim, Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, have some of the silliest and most productive mods the gaming medium has to offer.
With Fallout 4, modding is going to be absolutely nuts. Why? The mods will be supported on the Xbox One. Even better, we know that Sony is looking to make mods work on the PlayStation 4, too. That means the mods will be created on the PC by the community and then spread to all platforms.
In fact, modders are already working on stuff for Fallout 4. It’s small, simple stuff like the Rail Gun you see below made by Fallout 3 modder Zealotlee.
Several modders have shifted their focus away from Fallout 3. If they’re doing simple rail guns that will be imported into the game upon release, imagine what sort of absurdity they’ll get up to when the title is actually out in the wild.
Fallout 4 will release for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, complete with fantastic modder support, on November 10, 2015. We’ll have more on the game as it comes.
