HTC has begun rolling out its latest Android 5.1 Lollipop update to the One M9 Developer Edition. In addition to the new features and improvements that Android 5.1 brings, the release promises battery life and camera enhancements, and fixes for dropped calls.
This is essentially the same update that rolled out to regular One M9 handsets on Sprint last week. It weighs in at just under 800MB, and it brings a number of welcome changes and improvements. Here is HTC’s full changelog:
- Android Lollipop 5.1
- Data Performance Improvements
- Call Drop Improvements
- Battery Life Enhancements
- Temperature Management Optimization
- Camera Enhancements
HTC notes that “during the update process, your device may become noticeably warmer while the CPU works to process the large download package and install the patch,” but the rise in temperature is nothing to be concerned about.
Given that this is a Developer Edition update, it’s likely to reach all users at the same time, so be on the lookout for the notification. If you’re yet to receive yours, you can search for it manually from within the software update section in the Settings app.
