Xiaomi’s Mi5 is finally expected to arrive sometime this fall. We’ve been covering leaks for the rumored handset since late 2014, but a new report reveals an unexpected feature for the upcoming flagship phone.

According to a new report from MobiPicker, the Mi5 will be Xiaomi’s first phone to feature a fingerprint scanner. Citing an anonymous source, the site claims the device will take on Apple’s Touch ID with its own biometric scanner. We don’t get any real specifics, though the news doesn’t come as a huge surprise considering how many other phone-makers have already embraced the technology.

The report also offers an updated list of specs, painting a picture of an extremely powerful smartphone. Xiaomi’s Mi5 will allegedly offer a 5.3 -inch Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 820 processor, a 3030mAh battery, 4GB of RAM, 16GB/64GB of storage, a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 6-megapixel shooter up front. It’s set to run Android 5.1.1, though heavily modified with Xiaomi’s MiUI software.

Before you get too excited, remember that Xiaomi still only sells its phones in a handful of Asian countries. The company recently announced plans to launch in Brazil, but we don’t expect it to expand into the U.S. for at least another year or two. Until then, you’ll need to resort to the second hand market to get your hands on the Mi5 in most countries.
