Verizon sweetens deal on One M9

Verizon customers in the market might want to consider the HTC One M9. While the carrier hasn’t dropped the price of the phone — it’s still $199.99 with a new two-year contract — it is now offering a gift card with the purchase of a handset.

Each new One M9 customer will receive a $100 Google Play gift card after mailing in a proof of purchase. The offer is good beginning Wednesday and runs through August 31. The Google Play gift card needs to be added to your account before September 30, and you have a full year to spend that credit on movies, music, apps, games, magazines, books or whatever other digital content your heart desires from the Google Play Store.

It’s a pretty sweet deal for a new smartphone, and we imagine it’s Verizon’s attempt to move a few units — rumors have suggested the One M9 hasn’t been selling as well as last year’s One M8. Hit the source for the full details.
