Beats 1 for Android available thanks to clever hack

Apple Music is finally here, and one of the best parts of the new service is its Beats 1 radio station. Unfortunately, Android fans won’t officially get the service until later this year, but there’s a way to start streaming Beats 1 on your non-iPhone device right now.

A simple site created by Benjamin Rumble lets you play Beats 1 in your browser, assuming you’re using iOS (6 and up), Android (4.1 and up) or Safari for OS X. Just hit play and you should be able to hear Zane Lowe and the rest of the crew spin hits all day long, or at least until Apple shuts it down.

The Beats 1 hack is based on an unencrypted URL of the live stream spotted by Rumble. That means Cupertino could likely cut it off at any moment, though it’s possible the company won’t notice or simply doesn’t care. I just tried it for myself and it seems to be working fine at the moment, though we’ll update this article if the stream goes down in the near future.
