Splatoon is finally set to get another multiplayer mode. Joining Turf War and Splat Zones is Tower Control, a mode set to join Ranked Battles for free starting tomorrow. It will go live starting at 7pm Pacific/10pm Eastern tomorrow evening.
What is Tower Control?
Basically, there’s a floating platform in the center of the map. Teams rush to take over the platform. When standing on the platform, it moves towards your side of the map. It’s essentially a game that tasks players to take the tower and guard it from the enemy team as it moves. That movement will shift the battlefield constantly and force players to work together in order to win.
If you want to see the mode in action before you play it tomorrow, you’ll get that chance today. Here’s the word from the email from Nintendo.
Fans can tune into a special Treehouse: Live with Splatoon Tower Control at 3 p.m. PT today to get a sneak peek of the new mode on http://twitch.tv.
I’m glad we’re getting more modes to play in Splatoon. I haven’t touched the game since E3, so hopefully this will push me back into covering everything in ink.
