Apple releases iTunes 12.2 update, includes Apple Music and Beats 1

Apple sure took its sweet time, but hours after releasing iOS 8.4, which included Apple Music, an update for iTunes was made available. iTunes 12.2 includes support for Apple Music, along with Beats 1, the 24/7 worldwide radio station that’s part of the company’s new service.

The iTunes update can be downloaded through the Mac App Store—simply fire it up and it should be there. For me, it’s a 171 MB update, though it could differ from user to user. Here’s what apple had to say about the update.

Apple Music includes a revolutionary music service, the all-new Beats 1 live radio station, and an exciting new way for fans to connect with their favorite artists.

We got our hands on Apple’s new streaming service earlier today, so check out those impressions if you haven’t already. And, just in case, be sure to turn off the automatic renewal for Apple Music so you’re not charged for a subscription once your free trial ends.
