Fan pre-orders Fallout 4 with 2,000 bottle caps, Bethesda says okay

How could Bethesda say “no” to this? Fallout super-fan GatorMacheteJr saved up over 2,000 bottle caps during the span of the last four and a half years and has successfully used them to pre-order his copy of Fallout 4. His imgur account has the full story.

Being the first to pre-order a game in such a clever way, Bethesda gave it the go ahead. I wouldn’t try this yourself, though. Four and a half years is a really long time, and Bethesda probably won’t even honor it since you’d just be an unoriginal poser who stole his idea.

Of course, the 2,000 bottle caps also weigh 11.2 pounds, meaning the shipping cost to get them to Maryland was probably more than the price of the actual game. Don’t worry, he didn’t get a copy of Fallout 4 for free, but he certainly earned it.

Fallout 4 will be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Nov. 10.
