We normally don’t follow every single Android update for every single phone. We like to stick to major flagships and major releases, and while the DROID Turbo isn’t as popular of a phone since it’s limited only to Verizon Wireless, it’s one of the few flagship standouts that has yet to receive Android 5.x Lollipop. It has taken Verizon so long to release the update that it’s beginning to feel a bit awkward.
That’s all changing now. Android Central said Friday that it learned of soak tests that are starting to hit Motorola DROID Turbo owners. That means Verizon is gearing up for the final release of the Android 5.x Lollipop update. There isn’t any additional information to go along with Friday’s report, but we know that’s all some of you need — a confirmation that the wait is almost over.
As we heard earlier this year, the phone should jump right to Android 5.1 Lollipop, skipping the buggy standard release of Lollipop that started rolling out first. Enjoy Lollipop, because it seems like any upgrade to Android M is going to take… a really long time.
