Robomodo, developer of the new Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5, has opened up on the game’s multiplayer, describing it as “a skatepark that never closes.”
Those who snag the game up for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be able to participate in online matches with up to twenty skaters at a time. The online mode will provide missions, leveling-up, unlockable content, and head-to-head matches. These twenty skaters can go about their business without interacting with others, or they can even share custom skate parks with one another.
I wonder if I can make my skater torture park again from Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3.
Unfortunately, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners will only have access to the offline mode. Disruptive Games is developing the title, and there is no word yet if the previous generation games will reflect this absence in the price.
Skaters will include Tony Hawk, Nyjah Huston, Chris Cole, Riley Hawk, Aaron “Jaws” Homoki, Lizzie Armanto, Leticia Bufoni, David Gonzalez, Andrew Reynolds and Ishod Wair, but of course, everyone will just want to make their own.
Online modes and gameplay sound solid, but the visuals still need a bit of work. Better hurry up! Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 will be released on Sept. 19 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. No word on the release dates of the previous generation versions yet.
