Batman: Arkham Knight is getting a day one patch, 3.5 gigabytes

Batman: Arkham Knight has a day one patch, so get ready, disc or not, for a few extra gigs of download when you pop the game in. Every game has a day one patch these days, but it’s good to know just what it is you’re stuck waiting on.

According to Reddit, the patch offers up the following fixes and features:

  • Improved Performance
  • Stability Fixes
  • New feature: Rival Points
  • New feature: Original Batsuit skin available to select
  • Support for “A Matter Of Family” additional content
  • General gameplay, graphical, audio, UI, and localization fixes

Considering the game was delayed by three weeks just months before release, it’s a bit frustrating to still be downloading a huge patch like this. I’m lucky enough to have a great Internet connection, but not everyone has that kind of access. Game developers make good use of the time between sending it off to certification and release day, but it’s ultimately inconsiderate of many of their potential customers.

Batman: Arkham Knight is out now on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
