Vodafone U.K. has announced its new Android-powered phablet that hopes to give buyers on a budget a cheaper alternative to devices like the iPhone 6 Plus and the LG G4. Despite its incredibly affordable price tag, the device boasts a 5.5-inch display with a full 1080p resolution.
That puts the Smart Ultra 6 on exactly the same level as the iPhone 6 Plus — at least in terms of display size and resolution. But at just £125 (approx. $199), or free on contracts starting at £17 (approx. $27) per month, this is very much a midrange device.
Internally, the Smart Ultra 6 is packing Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, 16GB of storage, and a 3,000mAh battery. There’s also a 13-megapixel Sony camera on its back, a 5-megapixel camera on its front, and 4G connectivity for speedy data transfers.
While the Smart Ultra 6 may not be a high-end smartphone, it certainly looks like a very capable phablet with good specifications — especially at just £125. It comes with an almost pure version of Lollipop pre-installed, so you get Material Design and all the other great things that come with it.
