Google’s stock Android Clock app hits Google Play

by Brandon Russell | June 18, 2015

Google’s stock Android clock app is now available in the Google Play store. That’s good news for anyone looking for a solid and simple clock while also maintaining Android purity. Google already makes a lot of its services available as standalone apps, so why not this one?

Clock, as it’s simply called, is an effective way to set alarms, add timers, run a stopwatch and keep track of times across the globe. It’s all Material Design-y, which is to say it is very minimal, featuring a few animation flourishes and bright colors.

If you’re unhappy with the clock app already installed on your phone, check this one out. Not only will it ensure you’re not late to your next meeting, but it has the added benefit of connecting to your Android Wear device, allowing you to snooze or dismiss alarms right from your wrist. And it’s free!
