The Tizen Developer Summit will run from July 30 to July 31, the Linux Foundation announced on Tuesday. The mobile operating system is primarily used by Samsung to power devices like the Samsung Z1 and a bevy of wearables, but it’s available for all developers to take advantage of, and the hope is that many will attend the Summit next month.

The summit will take place in Bengaluru, India, which gives you an idea of the importance of Tizen in rapidly growing smartphone markets such as China. It’s also an ideal location since roughly half of the apps in the Tizen Store were built by Indian developers. The summit was held in Shanghai last year.

According to the Tizen Developer Summit website, the conference will “feature technically content for app developers, platform designers, ISVs, OEMs, hardware vendors, software vendors, open source enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to learn more about Tizen.” It’s probably a good event to attend if you’re a third party developer who wants to create apps for Samsung’s wearables, too.
