Moto X, Nexus 6 prices plummet in the U.K. for summer sale

If you’ve been eyeing one of Motorola’s latest smartphones, now would be an excellent time to buy one — if you live in the U.K. Prices of both the Moto X and the Nexus 6 have just plummeted by as much as £166 (approx. $261), making them more affordable than ever before.

The Moto X and the Nexus 6 have already been reduced in the U.K. fairly recently, but in Motorola’s summer sale, they’re now even cheaper. With £166 off, the 16GB Moto X now starts at just £229 (approx. $361), while a 32GB model is now £269 (approx. $423).

The 32GB handset can also be personalized in Moto Maker, and the cost will remain the same even after customization — unless you opt to have more expensive materials, or buy any add-ons.

As for the Nexus 6, that’s been reduced by £80 (approx. $126), which makes the 32GB version £399 (approx. $628), and the 64GB version £469 (approx. $738).

Both of these handsets are terrific; the Moto X was one of the best smartphones of 2014, combining excellent design with great specifications, and features like Active Display. The Nexus 6, on the other hand, offers the best Android experience of any handset on the market — if you don’t mind huge phones.

There is one thing to bear in mind, however. Reductions this big typically mean new handsets are on the horizon. It will likely be a little while before we see a new Nexus, but the Moto X is likely to be refreshed in as little as three months, and we’re already beginning to see 2015 Moto X leaks.

If you don’t have to have the latest devices, however, these are excellent deals on great devices.
