Closing our seven (ugh) E3 press conferences this year is none other than Square Enix. The company used to hold major press conferences at E3 in earlier times, so this marks a bit of a return on the grand scene for the popular JRPG/AAA action hybrid publisher.
On the Western front, we fully expect to see Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Just Cause 3, and who knows? Word is getting out about a new Hitman game in the near future as well. As of writing, Microsoft has probably already rolled out Rise of the Tomb Raider, so I’m not so sure Square Enix is going to dedicate that much time to it.
Instead, a good deal will be spent putting its Japanese line-up on stage. Final Fantasy XV doesn’t have anything new to show, but instead, we’ll probably get a look at Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness, Bravely Second, Kingdom Hearts III, Dragon Quest Heroes, Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward, and a new Front Mission perhaps.
Don’t be shocked to see Final Fantasy VII pop up on the PlayStation 4 as well. Surprise, surprise!
We all know what game I want to see there also, looking at you Dragon Quest VII, but I’m going to act like a mature adult if it does not show up again. Here’s to hoping! Enjoy! The show starts at 10 am PDT/1 pm EDT.
